On the website Teacherspayteachers a teacher can put in an idea or a request for something that they are looking for. This morning I checked the website and somebody requested a timeline that they can print and then post on their classroom wall to show the evolution of life on Earth.  All I could think was "what a great idea" and I wanted one too...so I got to work. Sure, it took me several hours but I'm excited to hang it on the big empty space in my new classroom. Yeah, teachers really know how to relax over our seasonal unemployment, right? I'll be sure to post pictures when it's up but there is some asbestos abatement going on now so that won't be for a while.  Here is what the file looks like: and here is where you can buy it: Evolutionary Timeline of Life on Earth For a limited time I have marked it down and given you a $3 discount for being my loyal blog reader. So I am constantly trying to find new ways to connect with my kids. I always make it a point to meet them at the door and talk to each and every student, I have individual meetings with each of them, etc. but I am always looking for more. Here's a way to show your appreciation for every student.  Download this free file, print them out on cardstock...address one for each student. During the school year when you find a student doing something great or going out of their way to help someone else, write them a little note and drop it in the mail.  I plan to fill out the addresses at the end of the summer so they are ready to go. You can ...

Vocab Review Template

It's that time of year again...Review Time! Although we are still finishing up out last unit of the year, we have started end of the year review to get ready for the Regents Exam on June 17th. I have seen this review game in several different places and haven't tried it out yet.  I have printed them out on cardstock and cut them out and put them into plastic baggies. (All teachers know how much time it takes the students to cut stuff out and especially at review time...time is precious) I created a template and a couple of these games already and just yesterday I received 3 emails from my fellow Biology Listserve teachers looking for such a template...so here ya go. Here is a link to the template in the iCloud (Pages format) Here is the link to the game I created for the first section of my Ecology Notes. I have shared it for free in my new Teachers Pay Teachers Page here is the link: http://www.teacherspayteacher...
